一、改革教学目标

中学英语教学改革是摆在中学英语教师和从事学英语教学研究工作者面前的一个课题。

进行中学英语教学大纲中教学目标和要求比过去大纲中的目标与要求具体得多，这是一个进步。但在进行大纲中，仍然存在着一些弊病，具体讲，存在着以下问题：

1）大纲教学目标和要求的描述不尽详细。

现行大纲对有些目标和要求的描述很不具体，如，大纲中对读的要求有这样的文字描述：“能读懂简单的运用文，如信函、请柬、通知、便条、说明、表格、图示和标志等。”这句话中的要求就不详细，如“信函”，我们知道信函包括很多种，而在此所指的是哪一种呢，教师就不得而知了。无奈之余，他们在教学中，就有些不知所措了。在高三的复习中，只好把各种“信函”全部给拉出来见面。而事实上，根据近些年的高考题来看，信函大多属于普通信、邀请信和感谢信。所以，我认为，既然要具体，就应该再详细一些，以便于教师在教学中操作。

2）大纲中的目标和要求不完善。

现行英语教学大纲第二部分的教学要求中只写出了“高级中学二年级和三年级英语教学要求”，而对高一年级的要求只字未提。高一是一个过渡时期，它处于初三和高二之间，学生处于一个转轨阶段。在这一时期，教师教学的尺度本来就很难把握，再加上大纲中又不作任何要求，这就更提高了教师施教的难度，故应该改革这种情况。

二、改革教学观念

人的一切行为都是在理论的指导下进行实践的。没有先进的思想观念，便不可能有先进的教学实践。如果教学观念滞后，就不可能有新的教学方法的产生。故教学观念的改革显得越来越重要。

改变观念不能只是一句口号，而应成为实实在在的行动。改革观念最有效的途径是出国进修，直接感受国外英语教学的思想和观念。除此之外，教师们还应该眼观六路，耳听八方，虚怀若谷，不断地学习。只有这样，观念方可转变，才能跟上时代的要求，不至于落伍。

三、改革和完善现行教材

现行教材有很多的优点，它已被广大中学师生所接受。但作为一套教材，它还存在着一些问题：

1）教材内容多，课时少的矛盾。

2）教材缺乏系统性。

3）教材中的漏误。

4）配套材料不够完善。

5）缺乏系统配套的泛读材料。

6）语言不严密。

这些问题严重影响着教学达标。根据以上问题，现行教材亟待改革。

四、改革教法

英语教学法是执教者根据英语教育的基本规律所采用的一种语言教学的方法。教学方法的选择是依据教学目标和教学内容来确定的。采用了科学的教学方法，教学方可有效。回顾我国英语教学法的演变过程，真可谓步履艰难。自从中国开始大规模的英语教学以来近百年，英语教学法经历了五个时期，即：对比法——直接法——翻译法——结构法和功能法。而这五种教学法又是交替使用，从来没有被单独使用过，其中翻译法沿用的时间最长。这一方法主要针对英语知识的教学，它至今仍在一定程度上影响着我们的教学。而现在的新教材是功能法和结构法的产物，是实用主义哲学的体现。根据我国改革开放的需要，要求培养学生能在国际交往中直接使用英语的能力。改革教法的目的就是要把过去的知识传授型的方法和不适合新教材的教学法改为功能交际法，以便达到培养交际能力的目的。

五、改革教学手段

新教材突出交际能力的培养。同时由于新教材容量大，课时有限，因此如果在教学中还一味地使用过去的“三个一”（一张嘴、一本书、一支粉笔）的教学手段，那是很难完成教学任务的，更不用说达到教学目标了。鉴于此，各学校应该尽力去改善英语教学的手段。英语教学改革的目标就是要利用一切可以利用现代化教学手段，给学生提供现代化的视听仪器和教学辅助设施，增大课堂容量，提高课堂教学的效果。

六、改革评估检测

考试、检测是评估教学效果的惯用手段。尽管新教材已经使用了六年多了，但至今还没有一套完全适合新教材的评估检测手段。现在的实际情况是考、教脱节。新教材以培养交际能力的目的，而现在的考试，评估仍然是以考试语法为主，这严重影响着教学。众所周知，考什么教什么，尽管近年来对能力的考查有所侧重，但事实上现在的考试仍然没有完全摆脱语法考试的影响。故导致在复习备考阶段，大部分时间还是花在了语法复习上。因此这种评估检测手段亟待改革。

七、改革师资现状

目前，全国各地中学英语师资水平很不均衡。越是贫困的地区，师资水平越低。造成这种情况的原因是多方面的。

1）七十年代，由于师资缺乏，全国各地举办了不少的短训班。短训班里培训出的教师解决了当时教师缺乏的问题，而这部分人的英语素质不高。

2）现在的中学教师中大多数属于八十年代中专或大专毕业生，虽然他们在长期的教学实践中努力，自修，拿到了大本函授文凭，但实际上，大多数的水平提高幅度不大。

3）函授不利于教师素质的提高，因为英语作为一种语言，在学习过程中，须进行听、说、读、写、译各方面的训练，而函授不能很好地解决这些问题。

4）由于工作环境和时间的推移，教师们的听、说能力不断地退化。

5）由于区域发展的不平衡，教师流动较大。这样就使得经济较发达的地区，教师师资水平越来越高，落后地区的师资水平越来越低，这样就造成了恶性循环，很不利于英语教学水平的全面提高。

鉴于以上原因，我们必须设法改革英语师资的现状。为了改革师资队伍的建设，国家教委计划将在近三年内培养一万名能教会研的教师，这对英语教师来说是一件难得的好事，除此之外各地的教育行政部门和学校教应该为教师们创造条件，鼓励进修。

总之，凡是不利于推行素质教育的情况均需改革。作为一名教师，我认为我们有责任为深化教学改革做一些力所能及的事情。如果每个教育教学工作者都来为教学改革出谋献策，那么，我们英语教学改革的成功之日也就为期不远了。希望我们共同努力，为之奋斗！

随着现代教育技术的发展，多媒体技术已成为现代教育技术应用的重要组成部分。随着电脑多媒体时代的到来，现代化教学技术才真正渗透到英语教学中来，为我国传统英语教学的改革和发展带来了生机和活力。

My topic is On the tragedy figures at historical turning points(Comparison of KongYiji and Rip Van Winkle).

The whole thesis consists of 6 parts. The first part will give a brief introduction of the negative, evasive and conservative attitudes of Kong and Rip as well as the topic’s significance in the real society. And the second part is going to analyze the figures’ background to show the historical necessity of the tragedies. In the third part, the tragic heroes’ failing in the character according to their living environment will be further discussed and the fourth part is to talk about their different tendency of dispositions and behaviors in the society. Then the author will dig into the root causes of the tragedies in the fifth part, and sum up the whole paper to reveal the ideological weak points of the two countries separately in the last part.

按照上级职改办有关政策规定，根据我市普教系统教师职务定期评聘工作的需要，四川省中学教师高级（七级）（下同）职务成都评审委员会拟定于下半年召开评审工作会，现将有关事项通知如下：

一、评审范围

四川省中学教师高级职务成都评审委员会,负责在我市的普通中学、职业中学、特殊学校、成人中等和高等文化补习学校、成建制的民办中学、民办职中和其他相同层次教育机构中，从事教育教学工作的人员,符合中学教师高级职务任职资格条件,申报中学教师高级职务任职资格评审工作。

二、申报材料

（一）申报材料

1、《专业技术职务任职资格评审表》(不收打印件,否则后果自负)一式二份；

2、《教师专业技术职务任职资格推荐表》一式十二份；

3、《高级专业技术职务任职（资格）申报信息表》一份（交录入的拷贝盘）；

4、《专业技术人员考核登记表》（至少近三年）或“年度及任职期满考核结果”复印件一份；

5、近五年来，参加比赛课、示范课、教学设计赛等的材料和获将证复印件一份；

6、近五年来，独立撰写的所教学科（专业）、能代表本人最高学术水平的2000字以上的主要论文、或著作（含教材）、或研究报告、或经验总结、或课题等共两篇及获奖证件复印件一份；（若是集体完成，应由合作者或课题负责人出具申报者所承担的内容，或所起作用的书面证明材料；若是教研文章、教改经验交流应注明何种范围内交流；若是文章获奖应附获奖证件；若是发表应附刊物封面、刊物目录和发表文章）；

7、反映本人近五年的思想政治、学术水平、工作能力、业绩贡献等方面,不少于2000字的述职报告一份；

8、与任教学校层次相应的《教师资格证书》复印件一份；

9、中学一级的《专业技术职务资格证书》或中学一级的《专业技术职务任职资格评审表》(要有像片和最后页)（就是任职年限）复印件一份；

10、近五年来各级各类荣誉证书（获奖证）复印件一份；

11、参加工作时的学历和最后学历复印件各一份；

12、《继续教育合格证书》复印件一份；

13、城镇学校教师《教师职称计算机合格证书》（若属免试应提供本人《身份证》和《四川省中小学教师职称计算机应用能力考试免试审批表》以及有关免试证件）复印件一份；

14、2008—200 *** 年度所教学科（专业）的手写原件最后一本《备课本》复印件一份，其余学年度《备课本》准备好备查；

15、《诚信承诺协议》必须申报人亲笔签字一份；

16、《晋升专业技术职务申请表》（公示一份）交复印件一份；

（二）申报材料要求事项

1、学历证书、计算机合格证或《四川省中小学教师职称计算机应用能力考试免试审批表》以及有关免试证件、任职年限、诚信承诺协议粘贴在《专业技术职务任职资格评审表》第一页上面的左边；

2、材料分类：分农村学校和城镇学校，并在材料袋右上方标明“城镇”或“农村”；

3、材料袋封面：以区（市）县教育局为单位，统一材料袋的格式，材料袋封面必须填写学校的主管部门、学校所在的镇（乡）、本人任教年级学科和申报学科、联系人和本人电话；

4、材料纸张：除推荐表为A3外，其它材料A4纸；

5、复印材料：凡是复印件，一律由学校和区（市）县教育局人事（职改）部门加盖红章才视为有效；

6、填写材料要求：所有申报材料要求文字规范、字迹清晰，所反映的内容真实、客观、完整、依据可靠，否则后果自负；

7、各类教研成果：提供近五年主要著作（含教材）、论文、研究报告、经验总结、课题等及获奖证复印件装订成册复印件一份；

（三）、报送材料事项

1、时间：2009年9月15日—30日，过期不接收申报材料；

2、地点：教育分中心(金盾路57号二楼);

3、材料分类：农村学校、城镇学校分别打捆同时报送；

4、报送《各学校申报人员名册》一份（要求姓名正确、字迹工整,同时交录入的拷贝盘）；

5、民办学校：各级各类在蓉民办学校教师职务评审材料，

送成都市人才流动服务中心教育分中心（金盾路57号）审查加盖红章后再报职改办；

6、中央部委局、省级在蓉有关部门所属学校和其他教育机构，申报材料时需持委托函，委托函应由主管部门人事（职改）签署同意意见；主管部门人事（职改）同时应在评审表“呈报单位主管部门”栏内签署“同意推荐”等意见。

三、答辩

答辩，是对申报人员进行面对面的考核方式，是评委会组织了解评审对象的方法之一，是高级职务的评审程序之一，是评审工作的重要环节。

（一）、答辩范围

今年，试行申报中学教师高级职务任职资格全员答辩。

也包括具有下列情况之一者，必须参加中学教师高级职务评委会组织的统一答辩，同时还要增补答辩内容：

1、按人职司函（1991）15号文规定：虽达到规定学历，但所学专业与所教专业不一致；

2、按川人办发（2005）57号文规定：破格晋升中学教师高级职务任职资格；

3、按《中学教师职务条例》（试行）和川人办发（2005）57号文规定：小学教师晋升中学教师高级职务任职资格；

4、中学教师高级职务评审委员会及学科（专业）组根据评审需要要求答辩。

（二）答辩内容及其他

1、答辩重点了解掌握所任学科（专业）的文化基础知识、学识水平、专业技术能力、工作业绩以及本专业领域的改革及发展动态等内蓉；

2、答辩时间、地点书面或电话另外提前五天通知；

3、答辩与评审同时进行，未参加答辩或答辩不合格者，评审委员会不得评审通过其中学教师高级职务任职资格。

四、申报程序和评审费

（一）申报程序

1、个人述职：申报高级职务应在本校教职工大会上或教研组述职；校评委会无记名投票表决并公示结果，赞同票数过半者才能申报材料，实行网上报名；

2、公示内容和要求：按省人事厅川人办发（2003）171号文规定，所在学校公示申报人的“个人业绩贡献”和学校对教师近三年所教学科的教案评比或排名情况；校评委会无记名投票表决结果；公示情况必须在《专业技术职务任职资格评审表》中“基层单位意见”和《教师专业技术职务推荐表》中“学校评委会意见和公示情况”格内填写；

3、公示时间：7天以上，（节假日除外）未经公示不得申报材料；

4、直属学校（含民办），直接送教育局职改办；各区（市）县学校送教育局审查，教育局再送当地人事局复核，教育局再送市教育局职改办。

（二）职称评审费

1、根据省物价局、省财政厅川价字费（1999）265号文件规定，高级职务评审费每人次收取240元；需答辩人员另交答辩费，每人次80元；

2、如是支票，请直接与市教育职改办专户（教育分中心财务室）联系；

3、任何单位和个人不论什么理由，不得擅自提高收费标准和扣留评审费。

最重要的技巧就是一定要牢牢的掌握自己论文的整个框架以及牵扯到的相关的知识，在整个答辩的过程中，对于框架的掌握是第一位的，因为只有掌握了整体的框架，你才能够知道这个论文到底是从哪里入手进行分析，动用了哪几个方面的知识，最终又是从哪个方面来进行总结的，也就是说只有这样才能够最终的把握好整篇论文的写法。

一、切忌敷衍塞责，应该认真准备

【案例一】一些教师对撰写论文比较重视，但对论文答辩不够重视，马虎从事。不同的论文答辩，会有不同的要求，有的要求脱稿，有的要求制作课件进行介绍，有的可以边看论文边讲。有一次，我在当评委时，一位教师不知怎的，把论文题目《情境教学法在高中思想政治课堂中的运用》说成了《高中思想政治课情境教学法的运用》。有的要求制成课件，个别教师连课件都没做，拿着纸在讲。

凡事预则立，不立则废。参加论文答辩的教师不能掉以轻心，必须认真对待，做好准备，对论文内容要深刻理解和全面熟悉。论文答辩的目的是为了进一步审查作者是否自己独立完成论文，有无抄袭;进一步考查和验证作者对所写论文论题的认识程度和当场论证的能力;进一步考察作者对所涉及的专业知识掌握的深度和广度等情况;针对论文中存在的一些问题，评委给出一些可行性的建议，进而可以提升教师科研的水平和论文的质量。教师要准备摘要、讲稿、答题及技术等。对于字数较长的论文，要准备写一个较详细的摘要和提纲，把字数浓缩到3000字以内，写出论文的写作动机、主要观点、材料、方法、结论等。考虑一些可能被问到的问题：如，你为什么要选择这个题目，该选题有哪些理论意义和现实意义?论文的基本思想和重要观点是什么，你是从哪些方面进行论证的?在写作中你参考了哪些文献?你的论文有什么创新和特色，存在哪些问题等等。

二、切忌照本宣读，应该有的放矢

【案例二】有一次，在某市教学大比武论文答辩会上，一位教师在介绍《论高中爱国主义教育的必要性及对策》时，从头到尾读了一遍。由于这位教师读得比较流利，语速较快，能在10分钟内把这篇论文读完。接着，评委问了两个问题：“文章中涉及的高中爱国主义教育现状和对策有没有必然的联系?高中生和初中生的爱国主义教育有什么不同?”

论文答辩的第一部分是介绍自己的论文，而不是读论文。这位参赛选手就犯了照本宣读的大忌。介绍的内容包括写作背景和意义、文章的观点、结构、论证过程、论据材料、结论，要做到概括简要，言简意赅。

三、切忌平平淡淡，应该重点突出

【案例三】在一次论文答辩会上，一位教师在介绍《浅析如何提高理科班思想政治教学的有效性》时，分三个方面进行介绍：1. 论文写作的原因。2. 论文的结构有五点：教师自身要重视教学，提升综合素质;引导理科生树立正确的学科观;尊重理科生的个性，建立良好的朋友关系;创新教学方法，激发理科生学习兴趣;减轻理科生作业负担。3. 取得的成效。然后，评委问了两个问题：文章内在的'逻辑关系，你是如何处理的?文章中提到的五个方面做法是否适合文科思想班政治教学?

另一位教师在介绍论文《施“寓盐于汤”之策，达高效课堂之果》时，不仅介绍了这篇论文写作的背景，结合自身教学实践谈了对预设的“角度”与生成的“程度”、思维的“深度”与提问的“热度”的看法，而且还介绍了自己写这篇论文的心得体会。然后回答评委的提问：课堂预设要达到哪些目标?

在这两位教师的论文介绍中，第一位教师的介绍显得平淡，第二位教师的介绍有特色。俗话说：“削繁去冗留清被，画到无时是熟时”，要尽量做到词约旨丰，一语中的。要突出重点，把自己在论文中的新观点或新的突破、最具特色和有亮点的部分，写作时最大收获、最深体会表述出来。

四、切忌答非所问，应该切中要害

【案例四】一位教师在介绍论文《思想政治课堂教学中的“生动”和“主动”》时阐明了自己的观点：“生动”使思想政治课堂教学越来越吸引人，一扫原先给人一种“枯燥乏味”的印象;但似乎又陷入另一种“枯燥乏味”，给人一种毫无生命力的形式主义之嫌。无视“主动”的“生动”是无效的。在课堂教学实践中，他努力尝试着实现“生动”和“主动”的统一。在10分钟内的介绍中，他能够脱稿讲清文章的结构、思路及主要观点，应该是不错的。接着，评委问道：“生动”和“主动”如何界定?教师答道：“主动”是突出学生情况。后面答不下去了。评委追问：“生动”难道不突出学生情况吗?参辩老师哑然无语。

在这个案例中，由于参辩教师事先在写作时没有真正搞清“生动”和“主动”的区别，或者没有听清楚，在回答评委的问题时，有点离题。主动是相对于被动而言，是指不待外力推动而行动。生动是指具有活力而且感动人的。

在评委提问时，参辩教师要认真聆听，并做好记录，仔细推敲评委所提问题的实质和要害。如果对所提问题没有搞清楚，可以请提问老师再重复一遍。如果对所提问题的有些概念不清，可以请教提问老师，或者把自己对问题的理解说出来，征求提问老师的意见，弄清问题的意思后，再作回答。只有这样，才能答到要害上，避免答非所问。

五、切忌强词夺理，应该实事求是

【案例五】一位教师在介绍论文《反思性学习在高考思想政治复习中的运用策略》后，评委针对参考文献提出如下的问题：文章中四方面的参考文献(1.《新课程与学习方式的变革》;2. 罗洪儿，《对教学反思问题的探讨》2006;3. 熊川武，《反思性教学》2004.华东师范大学出版社;4.网络资源《如何上好复习课》、《建构主义理论学习摘记》)对写作有何作用?这位老师答道：“扩大知识面，提供一个理论的支撑。”评委又问道：“你能否结合《新课程与学习方式的变革》这本书，谈谈如何提供理论的支撑?”“在新课程下，三大学习方式自主、合作、探究发生了变化。”“该书的作者是谁?写于何时?”“作者是一位专家，大概写于2003年吧!”“你认为你文章中的这些参考文献的写法规范吗?”“当然规范，网上也是这样写的，我看人家论文的参考文献也是这样写的。”

论文答辩有“问”有“答”，还可以有“辩”。提问老师所提的问题中，有的是基础知识性的问题，有的是学术探讨性问题。对于后一类问题，是非正误尚未定论，与所提问老师的观点相左时，可以据理力争。但对于前一类问题，是要参辩者作出正确全面的回答，不具有商榷性。这位参辩老师对参考文献格式的写法这一基础性问题的回答有点强词夺理。因为提问老师前面所提到的“《新课程与学习方式的变革》这本书的作者是谁?写于何时?”参辩老师答不出来，至少说明参考文献格式写法有问题。所以，对于自己没有搞清楚的问题，应该实事求是的回答，表示今后好好去研究，切不可狡辩。

六、切忌自卑傲慢，应该文明礼貌

【案例六】在当评委的这几年里，我感觉大部分教师在参加论文答辩时，均注重自己的仪态与风度。但有的教师从未经历过这种场面，感到胆怯，缺乏自信心。有的老师认为自己的论文曾在省级获奖或在刊物上发表，当自己的观点与提问老师观点相左时，态度有点傲慢自负，有理不饶人。这两种情况都会影响答辩的成绩。

论文答辩的过程是学术交流和探讨的过程。参辩人应把它看成是向专家学习和接受指导的好机会。孙中山先生曾说过：“其所具风度姿态，既使全场有肃然起敬之心，举动格式又须使听者有安静详和之气”。参辩人应尊重评委老师，言行举止要文明礼貌，谦逊大方。特别在自己难以回答评委所提出的问题，或和提问老师的观点相左时，更应如此。

The title of my paper is On the Significance of Drama Method in the Improvement of English Learning in Chinese Rural Junior High School. I choose this as my topic due to the following reasons. First of all, I really want to be a teacher, so during the four years, I have read many books about how to become a good teacher. Secondly, when I was a freshman in the summer of 2008, I was chosen as a teaching assistant of the summer camp which was organized by the New Oriental English School in Shijiazhuang. In the summer camp, I rewrote a script of an English drama to be one of the programs of the open ceremony. It was very popular among those students. They thought it was very interesting. In 2010, I was practiced as an English teacher at Chenguantun Middle School in Qinhuangdao, I found that the students have little interest towards English learning, so I hoped I could help them. Carter, with her versatile and avant-garde reputation, is best known as a feminist writer. Firstly, I am very interested in the study of ambiguity. Ambiguity is a common phenomenon in all natural languages. As is known to all, in our daily conversations, ambiguity is often employed to achieve the effect of humor, thus creating a relaxing atmosphere and letting people feel at ease. Some jokes caused by ambiguity is very interesting.

Secondly, I have read several articles about ambiguity written by linguistics and scholars. I found my knowledge of ambiguity is very limited, superficial and nonsystematic. What I knew is just the tip of the iceberg. So I plan to learn more about ambiguity by this research.

Thirdly, I found many scholars have carried out numerous studies of ambiguity, but a majority of these studies are focused on single language separately. Articles about comparison between English ambiguity and Chinese ambiguity are not sufficient. So it is necessary to make further study.

For the above facts, I select this title.

Next, I will present the outline of my thesis. It consists of 7 parts.

The first part gives a brief introduction to the ambiguity and structure of the thesis.

The second part is literature review, briefly introducing the development of study of ambiguity and some scholars’s main views.

The third to fifth parts focus on three types of ambiguity in English and Chinese: phonological ambiguity, lexical ambiguity, syntactic ambiguity. In every broad type, I respectively list some detailed branches and cite some vivid English and Chinese examples to explain these ambiguity phenomena. But I put more focus on the third part and point out two differences of ambiguity between English ambiguity and Chinese ambiguity.

The part six will point out positive results by using ambiguity deliberately in daily conversations, advertisements and literary works.

The last part is the conclusion.

I hope by this contrastive research, we will have a better understanding of ambiguity in English and Chinese and apply it to our life and study.

In the summer camp, I rewrote a script of an English drama to be one of the programs of the open ceremony. It was very popular among those students. They thought it was very interesting. In 2010, I was practiced as an English teacher at Chenguantun Middle School in Qinhuangdao, I found that the students have little interest towards English learning, so I hoped I could help them. So I use the Drama Method as my teaching method. Almost all of the students were highly motivated by the interesting teaching method and they have made great progress in the exam one month later. So the research proved that the Drama Method can be used as an effective teaching method. For the above facts, I select the subject of On the Significance of Drama Method in the Improvement of English Learning in Chinese Rural Junior High School as the title of my paper. I hope by studying this topic we can find an effective teaching method to help all the students’ English learning in junior high school.

Next, it is an outline of my paper. In the main part of this paper, I divide it into five parts.

Part one presents an introduction to identify the major problem of junior high school students’ English learning problems

Part two overviews all relevant researches in drama application in teaching oral English.

Part three is the research design, the research hypothesis, the subjects of the research, the research methods and the research procedures are conducted.

Part four is the findings from research data. After analyzing the data with Excel 2007, pedagogical findings and implications are delivered before the conclusion of the thesis.

Part five draws some conclusions about the research. As what has been shown in the research, there are a lot of benefits from drama performance; the Drama Method can be used as an effective teaching method. In addition, there are some suggestions for forthcoming researches.

in from a Feminist Perspective. I choose this as my topic due to the following reasons. Firstly, I am fond of literature works , especially gothic literature works. Secondly, I am quite familiar with this short story as this is one of the texts in our intensive teaching course and I have taught this text for more than 3 times . Last but not the least ,as a female , I am keen on the study of feminism. For the above facts, I select the subject of as the title of my paper.

I hope by studying this short story we can know more about American southern women in certain history and culture and more importantly help women in modern society get a deeper understanding about ourselves ,help us raise our independence and confidence and show more concern for our mental health.

Next , I will present it to you. Here is an outline of my presentation. They are literature review, gothic tradition , the gothic style in the story and the causes of the gothic style .

This paper consists of six parts. Part one presents an introduction to the author William Faulkner and by pointing out the purpose and significance of this study. Part two is literature review which introduces the relevant research about this novel at home and abroad and then points out the theoretical basis and methods. Part three gives a timeline of the gothic tradition in literature and explains the main characteristics of gothic works. Part four explains the three aspects of the gothic style in the novel，that is, the death theme, grotesque characters and mystic atmosphere. Part five then explains in detail the causes of the gothic style in this novel: patriarchal oppression, the myth of southern ladyhood and Emily’s attitude towards love. Finally, in the conclusion, the author summarizes the previous parts and emphasizes the significance of the argument of the thesis again.

I will present my efforts to you and welcome any title of my paper is on transformation of parts of speech in translation. i choose this as my topic due to the following reasons. different languages have different standards to distinguish parts of speech. each language has its own special structure. and there are no equivalent parts of speech between different languages. in order to make the target version more idiomatic and standard, the transformation of parts of speech is always used by translators. so the transformation of parts of speech is playing a more important role in english to chinese based on different characteristics of english and chinese. for the above facts, i select the subject of“on transformation of parts of speech”as the title of my hope by studying this topic we can know the importance of the transformation of parts of speech in english to chinese translation. through transformation, we can get the better version and improve the translation way of thinking and expressing is quite different between chinese and english. english is a kind of static languages which tends to use more nouns. while chinese is a dynamic one in which verbs are often when we make translation in english to chinese, we should know this point and shift the parts of , it is an outline of my paper. in the main part of this paper, i divide it into five one presents an introduction to the basic concepts of parts of speech and two discusses the definition of translation and emphasizes the importance of transformation of parts of speech in the course of three gives four basic ways of transformation of parts of speech through illustrative examples. there are transformed english words into chinese verbs, nouns, adjectives and four presents some problems about transformation and gives some advise to solve the five draws some conclusions that transformation between parts of speech is necessary for us to achieve good translation. it is demonstrated that we can have a good master of transformation and improve the translation. in addition, we must continuously study and explore in all kinds of translation ! that is all. thank you!

The year 2014 represents the 22”^ anniversary of Angela Carter's death. In those twenty-two years, her works have been widely taught internationally and brought about much critical debate. In a survey conducted by Cristina Bacchilega and Danielle M. Roemer [2],Carter is one of the most commonly taught women writers on North American programs. The Passion of New Eve, as one of Carter's most representative works, is of great value in the research of her feminist thoughts and , is my paper outline. Firstly, I am very interested in the study of ambiguity. Ambiguity is a common phenomenon in all natural languages. As is known to all, in our daily conversations, ambiguity is often employed to achieve the effect of humor, thus creating a relaxing atmosphere and letting people feel at ease. Some jokes caused by ambiguity is very interesting.

Secondly, I have read several articles about ambiguity written by linguistics and scholars. I found my knowledge of ambiguity is very limited, superficial and nonsystematic. What I knew is just the tip of the iceberg. So I plan to learn more about ambiguity by this research.

Thirdly, I found many scholars have carried out numerous studies of ambiguity, but a majority of these studies are focused on single language separately. Articles about comparison between English ambiguity and Chinese ambiguity are not sufficient. So it is necessary to make further study.

For the above facts, I select this title.

Next, I will present the outline of my thesis. It consists of 7 parts.

The first part gives a brief introduction to the ambiguity and structure of the thesis.

The second part is literature review, briefly introducing the development of study of ambiguity and some scholars’s main views.

The third to fifth parts focus on three types of ambiguity in English and Chinese: phonological ambiguity, lexical ambiguity, syntactic ambiguity. In every broad type, I respectively list some detailed branches and cite some vivid English and Chinese examples to explain these ambiguity phenomena. But I put more focus on the third part and point out two differences of ambiguity between English ambiguity and Chinese ambiguity.

The part six will point out positive results by using ambiguity deliberately in daily conversations, advertisements and literary works.

The last part is the conclusion.

I hope by this contrastive research, we will have a better understanding of ambiguity in English and Chinese and apply it to our life and study.

When reading the final draft, I still find my argument is not so comprehensive and improvements are needed. So welcome your precious suggestion.
