“本土天王”吴宗宪闻名华人世界，国际性的“时代杂志”亚洲版近来采访他，他也是第一位受该杂志访问的台湾电视主持人，之前，周润发、杨紫琼、王菲、李玟也上过该杂志的国际版。 时代杂志透过吴宗宪所属的BMG唱片公司安排访问他，两位记者一位美籍来自美国、一位大陆籍来自北京，采访过程十分慎重，可惜因为吴宗宪太忙，以至采访分段进行，日后还将租摄影棚拍照。之前吴宗宪曾被“新新闻”报导为台湾新狂人，时代杂志也有这样的角度吗？他说不会，表示刊出前将会先看过内容，他并期待成为封面人物。 吴宗宪说，时代杂志访问他，因为他在台湾电视界的地位与影响，在海外他的节目录影带也是最畅销的，对方了解他是争议性人物，并问他为何近半年的收视率走下坡。 吴宗宪表示，当他全面第一时，感受到沈重压力，所以立刻实行“老二哲学”，所以今天的“非第一”是他“有备而来”，他觉得老是第一压力大，不知敌人在何处，进步也困难，所以他规划自己有的第一、有的坐二望一。他说，两位记者听了赞美他是位“哲学家”。 吴宗宪也说英文名JACKY的由来：“家住台南，同学很多是空军子弟，我非常向往飞行，尤其迷恋幽灵机，一位同学的飞官父亲英文名叫JACKY，所以我就叫这个名字。” (广州日报) Times interviewing with Taiwan television host Jacky Wu Taiwan celebrity talk-show host Jacky Wu Zongxian was interviewed by the international magzine Times Asia Ed. He is popular in Chinese all over the world, who is known as the first Taiwan TV host, which has been interviewed by Time Magazine. Previously Zhou runfa,Michelle Yeoh, Faye Wong and Coco Lee were also reported by this magazine on International Version. Times arranged the interview with Jacky Wu through BMG record company.There were two reporters, one was from USA, and the other mainland reporter came from Beijing. Although the process of interview was circumspect, in consideration of Wu being busy, the interview has to be devided into stages, and they would take pictures later. Wu Zongxian has been called "Taiwan new bedlamite host" Will Times angle the report in a similar point of view? He said no， and stated he would scan the report before publication. He was looking forward to be the cover figure. Wu Zongxian said that Times interviews him, because his status and influence on the realm of television in Taiwan, besides his programme video records were the best seller overseas. They acquainted with that Wu is a controversial figure, and asked him about the reason why the television programme has been rapidly losing ground in the ratings. Wu indicated his huge pressure when he was on the top of the line, he intended to be "the second guy" That's his stratage of non-top phylosophy prepared for the first-class pressure, which hides the enemies anywhere, as well as no room for progression. He would like to stand on the second best and look forward to the first. Both of the reporter praised Wu as a "phylosopher" Wu also told the origine of his name JACKY:"I used to live in southen Taiwan,many of my classmates were the airforce children, I dreamed of driving a plane, especially about The Ghost.
