英语论文如何用citation

Harvard引用格式已经被广泛应用于多种出版物。所以熟悉这种引用方式便非常必要。第一种情况文本内引用(In-text citations)1.释义的文本内引用-Paraphrasing and in-text citationsExample:The point made by an analytic philosopher (O’Connor 1969, p. 32) is that values cannot be justified in this way. Understandings are generated by starting with specific elements and finding connections among them. To argue inductively is to begin with particular pieces of evidence, then pull them together into a meaningful whole. Inductive data analysis is a search for patterns of meaningful data so the general statements about phenomena under investigation can be made (Hatch 2002, p. 161).当文章中的引用部分是作为独立的部分存在，并且字数超过30以上时，这些引用会用不同的格式以凸显引用的部分，比如indented e.g. 5 spaces and are in a smaller font e.g. 1 point size smaller than the surrounding text. 这里同学们注意一定不能enclose the quote in quotation marks.

citation和reference区别为：词性不同、侧重点不同、用法不同。

一、词性不同

1、citation：名词：引用，引证，传票，褒扬。

2、reference：名词：参考，参照；涉及，提及，参考书目，介绍信，证明书；动词：引用。

二、侧重点不同

1、citation：citation侧重于引用他人说的话。

2、reference：reference侧重于参考性的资料。

三、用法不同

1、citation：做宾语：One thing that's very important to note: we must provide a citation for every question we write.

需要注意的重要一点是：我们必须为我们编写的每个问题提供一段引文。

2、reference：做动词，带宾语：I am writing with reference to your article on salaries for scientists.

我给你写信是要谈谈你写的有关科学家工资的那篇文章。

bibliography和reference list区别为：词性不同、侧重点不同、用法不同。

一、词性不同

1、bibliography：名词：参考书目，文献目录。

2、reference list：名词词组：参考表。

二、侧重点不同

1、bibliography：bibliography侧重于书籍。

2、reference list：reference list侧重于文章、表格。

三、用法不同

1、citation：用于搭配书籍：At the end of this chapter there is a select bibliography of useful books.

本章末尾附着有用书籍的精选书目。

2、reference：用于搭配文章：Please do not use this list as a model for the format of your own reference list, as it may not match the citation style you are using.

这里的引用格式未必是你的论文所要求的格式。
