This paper presents an experimental studyabout the impact of reflective coatings on building surface temperatures, airtempera- ture, globe temperature, energy consumptionandthermal comfort for buildings located in Shanghai, China. Thislocation is characterized by hot summers and cold winters, and the overalleffects of reflective coatings are complex considering the potential benefitsin the summer and the potential penalties during winter.
