1，变量单一，就是说你的数据还不够，只做了某一个单变量分析，最好是多做几个影响因素的单变量分析。2，文字粗糙，这个让导师或者课题组论文老手帮你润色一下。3，总字数可能没达到期刊投稿要求，最好再增加些内容。
Cover letter中文叫做投稿信，是在投稿的时候写给编辑的信，作用跟古时候拜访人家用的拜帖有点相似。如果把期刊编辑形容成住在高墙大院里的名门望族，那投稿人就是希望给伯乐相中的无名小辈，这么说来拜帖一定要精致醒目有特色。不过如果作者已经是业内大牛了，估计投稿信是可以随意一些的。
虽说文章能不能发表靠的还是科研价值本身，但是投稿信也是很重 要的。在现在发表的文章越来越多，权威期刊不缺稿源的情况下，责任编辑做的是择优录用，先淘汰掉一部分感觉上价值不大的稿件。如果投稿信没有含什么有用的信息，文章一眼看上去又没有太多吸引力，一些责任编辑就会很快做出拒稿决定。当然用的是非常委婉的说法，拒稿信用的也是统一模板。比如：
但是实际上，这篇第二天就被责任编辑拒稿的文章其实符合期刊发表的研究方向，因为有几篇相关的文章就是发表在该期刊上。不过被拒了也就拒了，再去辩解也毫无意义。不过好奇之下，还是去google了一下责任编辑的背景，主要是做光学的，跟文章所属的电磁方向虽然是一大类，但还是有所区别。再回头看那个投稿信，用的就是以前的模板，只是用两句话简要介绍了一下文章的主要结果。模板如下：
虽然投稿信也用两句话说明了一下文章结果的价值，但是在这种责任编辑只是大同行的情况下， 如果这两句话不能打动他，那么他就不一定能够认同文章的价值，就会直接作出拒稿的决定。
所以在重新投其他的期刊的时候，就意识到原先投稿信的分量还不够，还要加上一段文字说明为啥文章适合发表在该期刊上。上个月就有一个影响因子还不错的期刊的编辑给大家发了一个邮件，明确说明了，要是在投稿信里面没有加上这些文字，文章会被直接拒稿。
最能反映适合程度的当然是列出自己已经在该期刊上发表的文章，然后说明这两篇文章是有相关性的。如果没有过往记录呢，找出几篇该期刊最近2,3年发表的，被引用次数还不错的文章列举上去也是很有用的。5年前甚至10年前的就不要列了，因为现在期刊的scope都在不断地调整中，以前的热门方向，也许现在期刊已经看不上了。投稿信加上了这部分之后，重投了另外一个影响因子相当的期刊，文章很快被送审，很快给录用了。虽然不一定是投稿信带来的差异，但是还是愿意在心里认为投稿信也是要用心去写的。
不过也要记住，投稿信不要写得太长，最好在一页内把重要的东西说清楚。写得太长，编辑也会没有耐心看的。
有些人建议在投稿信中把推荐的审稿人也加上。这个视情况而定，如果期刊投稿的时候本身就要求填写几个推荐的审稿人，那么就不用占用投稿信的空间了。但是如果投稿系统没有这一项的话，那在投稿信加上会更好一些。提供的信息可以是审稿人的头衔、姓名、地址和电子邮件。记得多次确认一下，电子邮件是人家有效的而且是常用的。最後,若还是不放心, 可以请专业的论文润色公司如英论阁 提供协助
注意格式和内容。在投稿信的邮件正文里，我们可以简单地向期刊的编辑团队介绍一下：论文的主要内容和参与了该项研究工作的作者名单。这里的介绍并不需要过于详细，因为投稿邮件我们需要限制其长度，尽量在几段内就把重要的事情讲完，毕竟每个编辑每天的工作量都很大，需要审阅的投稿信件非常多。所以这里最好把在研究中一些比较复杂的实验部分省略过去，或者最多提一下即可。
把人家的问题列出来比如两个审稿人refa：提出的问题1（审稿人）首先表示感谢你如果按照审稿人的意见修改了，你就写已经按审稿人意见在文中修改如果不向修改，那说明你自己的理由问题2。。。。。。。。。refb：按上述回答别忘记感谢审稿人

先说一下Cover letter的框架，一般应注意包括以下内容：
1. 开头注意附上稿件的关键信息，主要包括Title、 Manuscript ID等；
2. 表达对责任编辑的感谢；
3. 表达对审稿人（Reviewers）的感谢；
4. 表明你（们）已对编辑和审稿人提出的建议做出相应的修改（Revisions），不用过于详细，细节性的内容可以在Response to reviewers里呈现。

发表SCI期刊论文过程中，按照审稿专家意见修改是发表过程中的重要一步。在稿件的退修过程中，哪些内容可以修改？哪些内容不可以修改呢？有一些作者经常会在退修过程中有这样的疑问，比如文章的题目是否可以修改？作者是否可以修改？数据是否可以修改？等等。 其实，在SCI期刊论文发表之前，除了按照专家的意见修改稿件外，稿件的其他所有内容都是可以修改的，包括题目、作者和数据等。但这些内容的修改期刊有不同的规定。按照修改要求的难易程度可以分为3类：1）最难修改的是作者。大部分期刊在退修阶段是可以按照需求修改作者的，修改的时候只要在稿件中修改作者信息就行，同时在投稿系统里面更新作者信息。但是也有个别期刊在投稿过程是不让修改作者。有一些期刊虽然可以修改作者信息，但是需要额外向编辑提交一个修改说明。 2）题目的修改。由于题目在投稿的时候在投稿系统里面提交了，很多作者认为在退修过程中不能修改题目，认为这样会导致期刊编辑认为是另外一篇论文了。这种观点是错误的。在退修过程中，题目也是可以修改的。SCI论文润色修改只需要在稿件里面修改即可。您还可以在投稿系统里面同步更新题目，如果投稿系统里面无法更新题目也没有影响，因为最好发表的时候是以稿件为准的。 3）稿件数据的修改。在退修阶段，除了按照审稿意见修改外，如果作者发现文章有缺陷也是可以修改的，比如补充数据、修改数据等。 总之，在论文正式接收之前，稿件的各个部分都是可以修改的，其中修改最为麻烦的是作者。但是，需要注意的是论文接收后的修改和退修阶段的修改不同，很多期刊在论文接收后就不能进行稿件大修和作者信息的修改了。
