The title of my paper is On the Significance of Drama Method in the Improvement of English Learning in Chinese Rural Junior High School. I choose this as my topic due to the following reasons. First of all, I really want to be a teacher, so during the four years, I have read many books about how to become a good teacher. Secondly, when I was a freshman in the summer of 2008, I was chosen as a teaching assistant of the summer camp which was organized by the New Oriental English School in Shijiazhuang. In the summer camp, I rewrote a script of an English drama to be one of the programs of the open ceremony. It was very popular among those students. They thought it was very interesting. In 2010, I was practiced as an English teacher at Chenguantun Middle School in Qinhuangdao, I found that the students have little interest towards English learning, so I hoped I could help them. So I use the Drama Method as my teaching method. Almost all of the students were highly motivated by the interesting teaching method and they have made great progress in the exam one month later. So the research proved that the Drama Method can be used as an effective teaching method. For the above facts, I select the subject of On the Significance of Drama Method in the Improvement of English Learning in Chinese Rural Junior High School as the title of my paper. I hope by studying this topic we can find an effective teaching method to help all the students’ English learning in junior high school.

Next, it is an outline of my paper. In the main part of this paper, I divide it into five parts.

Next, I will present the outline of my thesis. It consists of 7 parts.

The first part gives a brief introduction to the ambiguity and structure of the thesis.

The second part is literature review, briefly introducing the development of study of ambiguity and some scholars’s main views.

The third to fifth parts focus on three types of ambiguity in English and Chinese: phonological ambiguity, lexical ambiguity, syntactic ambiguity. In every broad type, I respectively list some detailed branches and cite some vivid English and Chinese examples to explain these ambiguity phenomena. But I put more focus on the third part and point out two differences of ambiguity between English ambiguity and Chinese ambiguity.

The part six will point out positive results by using ambiguity deliberately in daily conversations, advertisements and literary works.

The last part is the conclusion.

I hope by this contrastive research, we will have a better understanding of ambiguity in English and Chinese and apply it to our life and study.

一、选题是重中之重

之所以把选题放在第一位，是因为我在这次论文中深受选题的苦。做论文之前我一直有个误解，认为写论文、写论文，其关键在于写，在于数据，在于在统计软件中运行得到显著结果，而选题只是一个开端，无需花多大功夫。正是这种想法，使我在开题时直接被老师枪毙，我也成为了很少在开题中就被枪毙的几个人之一。现在看来，被枪毙的原因主要有两个：一是太被动。我的论文方向是导师给的，当时心里很高兴，觉得省掉了时间去找方向，却未考虑过这个题目我有没有兴趣，我到底能不能做出东西。二是准备不充分。在开题答辩之前，我甚至都没有搞清楚我的论文究竟要用什么基本理论和方法，只是以为当老师问我时，我可以侥幸地用“目前还没有考虑清楚”搪塞过去。而结果是，老师们识破了我的小算盘，并没有放过我。直到现在，我想起开题答辩现场王培欣老师清晰地说出“你的开题不能通过”时，我还冒一后背的冷汗。当然，事后王老师向我解释了她在开题时否定我的原因，也对我最终做出的东西进行了称赞，但我仍旧为自己当时的表现感到惭愧。

“良好的开端是成功的一半”，此话不假。开题的目的就是要作者明确写作的思路和方向，之后所有的工作都要朝着预定的方向前进。除了方向，开题时还应明确论文的写作重点和难点，有些工作可能在借鉴前人研究成果的基础上就可以完成，有些工作却可能需要作者对相关理论进行嫁接和融合，对相关方法进行突破，这些前人没做过的东西是文章的创新点，往往也是重点和难点。明确轻重缓急，不仅有利于使论文层次分明、重点突出，也有利于作者制定书写计划，高效完成书写。

虽然我们常说写论文，其实论文的关键不在于写，而在于思考，在于有好的思想，好的思想的建立就是从选题开始的。选题是选择有前沿性的、自己感兴趣的好题目，因为做一个好题目和一个坏题目所花费的时间是没有太大差别的，都要查文献、搜数据、做分析，而好坏题目的意义是完全不同的。在此次论文中，我虽做出了能让人耳目一新的东西，但所选的方向毕竟有些窄，不太前沿，所以我答辩之前一直信心不足，即使是现在心里也仍有遗憾。所以，选题是至关重要的，选题阶段就应阅读大量的参考文献，投入大量的时间，这个时间的付出一定是值得的，事半功倍的。

二、理论是根基

之前我总以为，理论部分是最容易写的，这部分不像绪论那样要自己总结梳理，也不像实证部分那样要自己搜集数据进行验证，理论总是要借鉴别人的，借鉴便少不了复制与粘贴。这种错误的思想使我在论文写作中走了不少弯路，理论部分洋洋洒洒写了不少，但导师总不能满意：一般概念性常识性的东西不能要，因为这会降低论文水平，太深奥的本篇论文没用到的东西不能要，因为和下文无关，同时还应保证这部分内容的篇幅，并对下文的创新点有铺垫。为此，我有很长一段时间都在找理论，甚至是在文章完成初稿之后我的理论部分还有许多不完善的地方。常理来讲，理论是支撑，是根基，是首先要明确的，而我却本末倒置了，所以每修改一次理论，整篇论文都要从头到尾修正一遍，花费了不少功夫。幸运的是，最终我寻找到了一个切入点，把论文的理论与实证有机地结合了起来，这本应在开题或论文初期完成的工作，我却在论文中后期才做完。事后我常在想，还好这次写的只是硕士论文，篇幅不算大，内容不算深，还算好对付，若是博士论文，我头两年肯定是白念的了。

此次硕士论文使我深刻地体会到理论部分的书写绝不是复制粘贴那样简单，理论部分在论文中起着支柱性的重要作用：理论错了，所有的实证都将没有意义;理论浅了，整篇论文的档次就下来了。选用哪个理论，着重用这个理论的哪部分，理论和实证如何衔接，这些直接关系到论文的质量。硕士论文是一个系统的过程，理论和研究内容相对应，研究内容和研究方法相对应，前后呼应，一环扣一环，理论便是这个链条的第一个环，是整个论文的根基。

理论部分一定要扣题，扣准创新点，对下文有支撑。下文要用到的详写，用得不多的略写，没用到的在不影响整体连贯性的情况下便可不写，以保证文章的紧凑简明清晰。

三、软件仅仅是工具

我是理科生，理科生都有个通病——钻。我总以为自己擅长数学，所以每次做统计题都会很兴奋，也愿意死抠一些统计软件的原理，不弄懂不罢休。对于学习知识来说，这种精神是可贵的，而对于管理学论文写作来说，这就有些过犹不及了。研一学习的统计课程由于是一门重要的考试课，再加上软件中的许多东西对当时的我来说是陌生的，所以投入了很大的时间和热情来研究为什么要这么操作，这样操作反映了怎样的统计原理。这种思维惯性延续到了做论文期间，我的思路总是“跑偏”，花了时间研究软件是怎样运行的，却改变不了任何统计结果，我成为了一堆数据的玩偶，被数据搞得晕头转向。以至于到最后每要开始研究一个问题，我都要逼着自己事先问一下，这个对论文的书写到底有没有用，若没有，便pass掉，因为时间真得是有限的。

此次论文使我明白，在硕士论文写作中，对统计软件的掌握重在应用，而不是弄懂其原理，虽然在课程学习阶段我们花费了大量的时间在这方面，但它们不决定论文的实质性内容，而只是辅助。尤其是在时间和精力有限的情况下，更应灵活地进行时间分配，分清轻重缓急。软件是一种工具，就像是物理实验中的仪器一样，虽然有误差，但不影响结果分析，至于为什么有这种误差，不是论文重点研究的内容。

硕士论文对统计方法的要求相对简单，而博士论文也许就不这样容易了。博士论文又提高了一个档次，我想对统计知识的要求应该也高一个水平，自己以后还应深入掌握。

四、常与老师沟通

在这一点上，我自己做得还有不足，我不是很经常地去找老师沟通，尤其是在论文初期，老师帮我选好题后我就再也没找过他。我总以为自己的思想还不成熟，不知道与老师谈些什么，而我的导师也不是很善谈、能调动别人情绪的那种(除了喝酒的时候，呵呵)。所以，我每次找导师都是因为大事要来了，比如中期、结题。中期时与导师沟通了一次，导师没有提什么意见，因为那个时候我做出的东西还是四分五裂的。在这篇论文上，与导师有实质性的沟通是我完成初稿之后。我初稿完成的比较快，5月中旬就完成了，这样导师有充分的时间给我修改，因为我们6月底才答辩。导师对我的论文逐字逐句地进行了修改，从结构到语言，从理论到实证都提出了中肯的意见，并且导师提出的大都是些关键性的问题，这对我的论文有着很大的指导作用。

与自己的导师进行沟通是必须的，与其他老师，尤其是开题、中期、结题时答辩组的老师进行沟通也是非常必要的。因为论文不像是数学题，答案是固定明确的，论文中的观点是仁者见仁智者见智的。不同的老师会从不同的角度提出不同层面的问题，这对论文写作是有很大帮助的。因为，往往作者在论文写作中会产生一些盲点和思维惯性，束缚着新东西的产生，而不同老师的意见可以促进我们不断产生新的想法，使论文不断完善。我在中期和结题之后都会主动地找评阅老师，请老师详细地为我讲讲他们的意见，以保证我在下面的书写中不要走错路子。

值得注意的是，与老师沟通并不意味着完全听从老师的，一定要坚持自己的观点，老师的意见大都是建议性的，而关键还在于自己，因为是我们在做论文，而不是老师在做。

论文写作中还有一些应注意的'小问题，不好一一详细整理，就都归纳在其他里吧。比如，参考文献一定要阅读好期刊上的文章，因为做研究是承前启后的，站在巨人的肩膀上才能看得远;论文写作过程中，用日期为每天的论文命名，这样可以看到论文的进展情况，使自己有成就感;适当地用图和表，四五万字的论文让读者一看很容易发怵，而适当地图表可以使读者醒目地看到作者的思路和观点;注重格式，虽说格式不影响论文的实质内容，但它是论文的面子，是作者工作态度的体现，在这种稍微细心一点就能做好的工作上一定不要出现差错;有了想法及时书写，不拖拉，有些想法是转瞬即逝的，所以有了好的点子应马上记下来，等积攒多了，也许就会是个大的创新点，并且写论文是会上瘾的，最初要逼着自己有这种瘾，待上了道之后速战速决，完成书写;正确对待PPT，PPT不是要上台念的，而是要讲出来，并且做PPT的过程也是作者梳理思路的过程;答辩之前做好准备，对自己提问，大胆猜测老师们会问些什么问题，自己应怎么做答，有充足的准备才会有十足的信心。

硕士论文结束了，但这只是我学术生涯的一个开端，我的学术之路还很长很长。在这个过程中，我收获到了科研的最初体验，这个第一次对我来说是珍贵的。也许，多年以后，再看这些文字的时候，我会为自己的幼稚和浅薄感到羞愧，但我不会忘记我写下这些文字时的激动与自豪，因为我勇敢地踏出了第一步，即将开始新的征程。

1、认真阅读和领会《关于案例研究论文的几点说明》

白华老师曾经在学校MPAcc网站发表过《关于案例研究论文的几点说明》，其中写到“全面深入地理解一套理论，通读正反各方对其评论，掌握其要义，还能指出这一理论的不足之处和改进办法。在此基础上将其运用于某一领域，提出一个运用这一理论的应用性框架。然后用这一框架去分析案例，得出一些具有启发性的结论或能指导案例公司的工作;或是反过来检讨理论和框架本身的问题”，反复阅读及领会这段话的含意，对于我们的论文写作可以起到醍醐灌顶的作用。

2、选好题目

按照学校要求，MPAcc学位论文应为案例研究类型，即以我们自己目前正在从事或曾经从事的工作作为案例研究对象，这样资料搜集较为容易，写作起来能得心应手，答辩时也能对答如流。正如罗其安老师所言，我们所写的论文应该是没有在这个案例单位工作过的人肯定写不出来或很难写出来的。

我从1996年10月起从事营销财务工作，1998年5月进入创维公司营销总部从事财务工作，对营销财务工作有着自己深刻的体会，所以就以创维公司的销售与收款内部控制为案例研究对象来撰写了学位论文，并在资料搜集及论文写作过程中感觉比较得心应手。
