On Comparison[Abstract] In this paper, the writer intends to conclude the usage of comparison: ways of expressing comparison; Single-,two- and three-variable comparison; Patial contrasts between comparison and main clause; the modifying elements in the comparative structure; incomplete, in consistent or illogical comparison; "than" different structure and some special usages of comparison.Key word: comparison1 Ways of expressing comparison:There are many ways to express comparison--including comparison of equality, inequality and proportion. It can be expressed by a comparative clause or a simple sentence including comparison. Now we discuss the patterns individually:Comparison of equality:This is used to show that two persons or things are, on comparison, found to be equal in a certain respect. Simple sentenceThis kind of comparison of equality is a simple sentence, supported by some words or phrases to express the comparison.
