又是秋天，福海的湖面上浮着金色的柳叶，映衬着晌午的阳光。微波粼粼的湖面上泛着斑驳的光斑，时而簇拥，时而碎裂。我刻意地去踩那落在地上干枯的叶子，发出那“咔咔”的破碎声。
秀丽的武陵春色，宏伟的正大光明，雄大的方壶胜境，欧范的谐奇趣，华丽的海晏堂。经过那熊熊烈火的'燃烧，消失不见。
站立在残桥的桥头，这是圆明园里残存的石桥。很短的距离，跨过了沧桑的历史长河。石块，毫无规律的堆积在桥边；杨树，投下斑驳的树影在桥上；叹息，一次次从桥面涌来。相机的快门在身后不停地响起，“摆个姿势再来一张！”我甩头走开。何尝不是呢？在人们的眼里，圆明园，已经成了一个纯粹的旅游景点，同其他胜地一样，“充满欢声笑语，充满‘咔嚓咔嚓’”。
大水法，已只剩下一个汉白玉门型框架。大体虽已消失，但残留汉白玉上的雕刻，精美绝伦，即使不参照复原图，也可想象当时为修建这个专为皇帝观赏的大喷泉耗费了多少人力，物力，财力，观水法后的石屏共有五块，都由汉白玉精心雕刻而成，当时的皇帝，便坐在石屏中央的宝座上，观看着那雄伟的喷泉，美轮美奂，引人入胜。然而如今的我啊，站在观水法中间，直视惨败不堪的“水法”，却不禁将那过去的赞叹化为悲哀，秋风萧瑟，使我打了个寒战。
仔细的去想一想吧，曾经的英法联军——英国和法国现在已经是的发达国家，又何况当时呢？他们可能看不起那已经经历过鸦片战争并且战败的中国，也不知足于不平等的《南京条约》。雨果这样评论我们：“我们欧洲人是文明人，中国人在我们眼中是野蛮人。”也这样评论这次劫掠：“这就是文明对野蛮所干的事情。”
然而直到现在，有的国家亦然不接受教训，继续用战争的硝烟去满足自己的野心，其中有不少毁掉文明古迹的例子。
“岁月创造的一切都是属于人类的。”你又何必去伤害它？
但不得不思考的是，这场悲剧是否可以避免？没错，没错！英法联军凭什么侵略我国？欧洲人凭什么说自己文明我们野蛮？
因为懦弱！因为腐败！因为缺少有远见的知识分子！
圆明园的悲剧又一次警告了我们，“落后就要挨打”；告诫了我们“为中华之崛起而读书”。当今的我们唯有好好读书，学好知识，将来报效祖国，才能够令祖国更强大，才能够让其他国家看得起我们，才能避免这类悲剧的再次发生。
树叶一片片落下，告诉我这一切都已经过去，“不要沉浸于过去的悲伤”。
圆明园的残骸，依旧屹立在北京城中，经历了百余个春秋。它仿佛仰天长叹，诉说着悲伤，与愤慨。
新中国成立后，党和国家极为重视圆明园这一重要遗址的保护，周恩来总理曾明确提出一定要保护好圆明园遗址，各级政府先后制订了一系列加强管理和保护的方案。1960年圆明园遗址被列为海淀区重点文物保护单位。1976年成立圆明园管理处进行了绿化、清理古建遗址、寻找运回流散文物整理史料等工作，1979年圆明园遗址被列为北京市重点保护单位，并筹办了开发了圆明园展览馆。1980年宋庆龄等国家领导人及社会各界人士1500余人发起《保护、休整即利用圆明园遗址倡议书》。1983年圆明园被正式命名为“圆明园遗址公园”。1988年经国务院批准，圆明园遗址公园被列为全国重点保护单位并正式对社会开放，北京是政府和国家文物局先后正式批复《圆明园遗址公园》、规划原则是“整体保护、科学整修、合理利用”。实施过程中因保持遗址范围、遗址格局、遗址建筑、历史信息，历史环境的完整性，必要的整修和恢复，必须体现历史真实性，以保护遗址为前提。
为体现历史兴衰特征和科学永续利用将在三圆内设遗址凭吊活动区，三圆外划分圆史和文物展览区、休憩娱乐区，综合服务区，公园管理区。达到使它具有参观凭吊、教育后人不忘国耻、热爱世界和平教育的功能；具有历史研究、科学考察的功能；具有西方文化交流的功能和具有游览休憩的四大功能的目的。
规划整治内容包括：将三圆的建筑遗址全部进行清理考证；恢复山形水系；依据考证按各景区原有植物进行种植；恢复三圆的桥涵、路径、园墙及圆明园大宫门；恢复功能需要的少量古建筑；园外周边绿地的景观及环境设计与园内协调一致。
圆明园遗址的保护整治工作列入了北京奥运行动规划和历史文化名城保护规划。2006年遗址公园全面建成，除建筑群外，将再现盛时圆明园的自然风貌。
发展为爱国主义基地圆明园遗址是以遗址为主题进行爱国主义教育的基地。回顾圆明园的辉煌，可以使我们体会到圆明园是我国古代园林艺术集大成者，是中华儿女聪明才智和丰富创造力的集中表现，他是民族的骄傲:但面对那一片片废墟遗址，我们又无法忘记民族和国家近百年来所蒙受的耻辱，圆明园遗址公园是一部爱国主义教课书，他对增强民族凝聚力、提高爱国主义意义深远。
