最早的译诗 汉代刘向编纂的《说苑》记载有这样一个历史故事： 楚国的襄成君刚受爵位的那天，穿着华丽的衣裳，被随从们簇拥着来到河边。楚大夫庄辛刚好路过，他拜见完襄成君站起来，想和襄成君握一握手。握手在等级森严的古代是一种非常不严肃的行为，所以襄成君听后十分生气，脸色大变。庄辛见了也有点不自在，他转身去洗了洗手，给襄成君讲了一个鄂君子的故事： 有一天，鄂君子坐在一条富丽堂皇的刻有青鸟的游船上，听见一位掌管船楫的越国人在拥桨歌唱。歌声委婉动听，鄂君子很受感动，但就是听不懂他在唱些什么。于是鄂君子招来了一位翻译，让他将划船人的歌词翻译成楚国话。这就是后世闻名的《越人歌》，歌词如下： 今夕何夕兮？搴舟中流；今日何日兮？得与王子同舟。蒙羞被好兮，不訾诟耻。心几烦而不绝兮，知得王子。山有木兮木有枝，心悦君兮君不知。 鄂君子听明白歌词的意思后，立即走上前，拥抱了那位划船人，并把绣花被盖到那人身上。襄成君听完这个故事，也走上前去，向庄辛伸出了友好的双手。 上面的故事，发生在公元前540年前后。 当时楚越虽是邻国，但方言不通，交往需要借助翻译的帮助。这首《越人歌》是我国历史上现存的第一首译诗。这首诗接近《楚辞》作品的缠绵悱恻，艺术水平很高，它和楚国的其它民间诗歌一起成为《楚辞》的艺术源头。参考资料：
